Two-thirds of the DSinGIS project has been completed. The “2nd Review meeting” summarized the work done over the past two years. The event was hosted by the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering (TIAC) in Tashkent, October 19-21, 2019.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Lóránt Földváry project coordinator, Dr. Béla Márkus project manager, Dr. Malgorzata Verőné Wojtaszek and Valéria Balázsik from Óbuda Unuiversity (OU, Hungary) and Dr. Sabine Hennig and Dr. Erika Blaschke from Paris Lodron University, Salzburg (PLUS, Austria).
Each of the Uzbek partner universities were represented by their local coordinators and key staff members. Dr. Lóránt Földváry, project coordinator, Ilhom Abdurahmanov, national coordinator (TIIAME) and Mamanbek Reimov, Uzbek project manager (TIIAME) summarized the results achieved and reported on the timeliness of the tasks set out in the workplan.
As a most important outcome of the project, young colleagues who had been awarded a scholarship presented the results of their doctoral studies in EU countries. Their technical reports are available in the DSinGIS Knowledge Pool. During the meeting, scholarship applicants for the following period were also interviewed. In the selection criteria of applicants, in addition to their professional background, research plans and adequate knowledge of English were significant issues.
The participants of the meeting have evaluated the results achieved so far and defined the remaining tasks of the project, responsibilities and deadlines. During the breaks, there was an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss some other details, which can greatly contribute to the successful completion of the project.
